Core announced as specialist supplier for Government G-Cloud Programme

London, UK, 19 February 2012 – Core are delighted to announce they have been named as an approved supplier as part of the government’s G-Cloud framework.

The G-Cloud framework is an exciting new initiative which has been developed to help reduce Government IT expenditure on business applications, as departments move to on-demand services. It draws together a list of approved providers for infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service, software-as-a-service and specialist cloud services. A statement on the official Government G-Cloud website explains;

“The Government is committed to the adoption of cloud computing and delivering computing resources. The G-Cloud is an iterative programme of work to achieve this which will deliver fundamental changes in the way the public sector procures and operates ICT.”

As one of Microsoft’s most prolific Cloud Accelerate partners, delivering migrations, development and support for Microsoft’s Online Services offerings, Core were selected as one of the approved suppliers for specialist cloud services. This means that any Government department in the UK implementing Microsoft Office 365 and Windows Intune can buy professional services directly from Core, safe in the knowledge that they have been pre-approved based on their experience and expertise.

Commenting on being selected as a G-Cloud supplier, Core’s CEO, Conor Callanan said;

“We are delighted to have been selected as an approved supplier as part of the G-Cloud programme. With cloud computing becoming an increasingly central part of the UK Government’s long term vision for the delivery of their products, it is vital to engage with a partner who can demonstrate the consistent ability to reliably deliver solutions. Core has invested heavily in Microsoft’s cloud services since their release and plan to continue investing heavily to provide the support and guidance needed to get the most from the cloud.”
