Formed in 2004, London-based Fitbug provides health and well-being services to companies and individuals throughout the UK and beyond. Its core product is its Fitbug system, based on a unique coaching website and a pocket-sized gadget that records every step users take and every calorie they burn.
As a company with a focus on trimming excess weight, Fitbug understands the importance of staying streamlined. In 2011, with businesses across the UK facing a difficult economic climate, the company decided it was time to look at making its own internal systems more efficient. At the time, Fitbug’s employees were reliant on emails being handled by an aging Microsoft Exchange infrastructure. The company wanted a stronger disaster recovery plan and backup strategy, and was keen to cut down on the costs of equipment, administration and support. It also wanted a more easily scalable solution that gave Fitbug the ability to stay lean and hungry, but also room to grow.
Rahil Sakoor, ICT Manager for Fitbug, researched various solutions, but one soon stood head and shoulders over the rest. “With us moving away from the traditional mail server and with all the buzz around the cloud, Microsoft’s just launched Office 365 seemed like a natural progression. We could strengthen our DR plan, make cost savings and have a better structured product.” After speaking to its existing ICT partners, Rahil decided that it was time to talk to a specialist. He contacted Office 365 and SharePoint specialist Core, who worked with Fitbug to plan and then implement a company-wide migration to Office 365.
